The Most Beautiful Spiders in the World! [PIC HEAVY]

Alright all you spider haters! For the many years I’ve been on this forum, I’ve seen countless threads and posts regarding spiders and — from what I can tell — the vast, and nearly unanimous hatred and/or fear of them. In fact, the very reason I’m making this thread is because is because we currently have a new topic (Spiders Could Theoretically Eat all Humans In One Year), in which nearly all comments were a rise to destroy every spider in sight (Mostly comic hyperbole, but nevertheless. )

Well! I for one happen to LOVE spiders! Take that, conformists!

In fact, I used to have several different kinds of arachnids and arthropods as pets, and have worked with or alongside them on many occasions, some nearly the size of dinner plates (Goliath Bird Eating Tarantula)

Why love spiders? There are tons of reasons!

They’re just cool

They’re the inspiration of many mythological and legendary beasts, sometimes even creators and gods (link)

They are mostly harmless. In fact, out of the 34,000 known species, only about 27 of those species have ever caused a human fatality.

Furthermore! North America has roughly 3,400 of those species, and only 2 of them are actually harmful to humans (The Recluses and Widows)

If you find a spider in your house it means that roughly 2000 other insects will not be there due to your friendly neighborhood spidey protection!

Spider silk is being used as a textile material, is incredibly strong, and may redefine what building materials we’ll be using in the future thanks to it’s light weight and durability.

They reduce pests and maintain stability in our ecosystems

They also reduce the spread of disease and ailments due to these pests.

And they were the inspiration for Spiderman

They also happen to be BEAUTIFUL CREATURES!

(nice comparison. nope). Yes, they can be lazy, yes, they can be greedy, but they can be active, fun, and playful pets too! — XxDarkStorm_PhoenixMothxX

Take this off the list NOW
this is stupid for you to put this on the list

Dogs shouldn’t be on this list because they help you exercise every day. Plus, specially trained dogs help people when they are blind.

These pesky animals come from the order Tabanidae and the family Diptera. These large flies are contant pests to farmers. The females drink the blood of people and animals for their eggs.

Oh they are scary

I like them. They’re just so [email protected]$$-looking — XxDarkStorm_PhoenixMothxX

Creeping and crawling — Userguy44

This is the reason why I am scared of creepy crawlies now

In my humble opinion, the vast group of pests that constantly harass everything, some having parasitic maggots, SUCK.

Of the parasitic flies, worse than houseflies, the only one I can respect is the Congo Floor one, since it at least has to move constantly to find a host and could be killed by predators. Botflies and Mangoflies? They call your dermis food and a cheap house before eating your skin, popping out, and continuing this cycle. Botflies are jerks to mosquitos, laying eggs on the poor thing, while Mangoflies are just terrible and tend to gang up on one area (which means small mammals and even baby mammals are as good as maggot food). Screw flies!

Couldn’t agree more. Pigs may not be very pretty, but they give us food — XxDarkStorm_PhoenixMothxX

There is a reason why they r harame

Rats are the cutest animal ever. Rattos are life. In have these fur balls as pets. They playful and active. They are not gross at all.
